| | XWH: Extreme Women's Hockey - Level One Playing Field |
Our women's league is a Level One playing field so to promote a fair and fun atmosphere for all teams participating.
Level One Team
Level-5 players: 2 maximum
Level-4 players: unlimited
Level-3 players: unlimited
Level-2 players: 3 maximum
Level-1 players: none
Level-5 players skate very well forwards and backwards. They carry the puck very well and can go end-to-end during a team rush. They have good acceleration and have a good shot when needed to score goals. These players stand out on the ice during a game.
Level-4 players skate forwards with speed, shoot and handle the puck well. These players tend to make good passes to teammates and are keeping up with the speed of play. They may need work on shooting or backwards skating or some part of their game.
Level-3 players have good forward skating and can carry the puck during the game. Players need to develop lateral and backward skating, in addition to deking, passing, shooting the puck and positional play during the hockey game.
Level-2 players need more forward speed, stopping, turning, and backward skating skills. Stick handling the puck is limited and shooting needs improvement.
Level-1 players need improvement in all areas of skating from stopping, turning, forward and backward acceleration.
